Covid-19 Safety Plan

Your Health and Safety is our Priority.

First and foremost, our hearts and thoughts go out to the families who have been affected by this virus and would like to express our utmost respect and gratitude for the sacrifice our front line workers are taking to contain the Coronavirus. It is without doubt that we are facing unprecedented times due to the Coronavirus pandemic and are facing challenges in all aspects of life.

The health and safety of our patients and employees are always our highest priority. I am writing this letter to let all of our patients at Ascend Physical Therapy know that our two locations remain open and are here for you. Physical Therapy is an essential service for patients living with pain or debilitating symptoms, and as Physical Therapists, we provide patients with the proper tools to improve their overall quality of life. We are asked to stay at home to reduce the spread of COVID-19; but inactivity, a sedentary lifestyle, and ignoring our pain and symptoms, could be equally detrimental to our overall health.

To provide a safe environment for our patients and employees, we have been taking  the appropriate steps and precautions advised by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). Several additional key measures have been put in place to provide a safe environment as we continue to serve your needs:

Screening

  • We have been vigilant with following CDC guidelines and are screening patients with every visit.

  • Upon evaluation, patients are given questionnaires which are reviewed by a Physical Therapist prior to treatment.

  • Each visit patients are being screened for flu-like or upper respiratory symptoms including fever, cough, fatigue, and shortness of breath.

  • We are asking that all patients who have recently traveled or are showing symptoms to stay home for at least two weeks prior to returning to therapy.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Hygiene

  • At this time, all patients and staff are required to wear face masks.

  • Hand washing stations and hand sanitizer are provided for patient use

Cleaning

  • Our staff has been diligent in cleaning and sanitizing all surfaces including treatment tables, chairs, and workout equipment

  • We have made steps to ensure patients in our office are practicing safe social distancing including rearranging our office, utilizing private treatment rooms, and allowing ample space between patients.

  • Our clinic provides 2 large separate gym areas and many private treatment rooms to provided adequate social distancing.

  • Physical Therapy Treatments are 1:1 and are being conducted in private treatment rooms.

  • We are asking all family members and caregivers to stay in their cars when waiting for the patient to finish their treatment session

Telehealth

  • We are now offering 'Telehealth' physical therapy visits for patients who are not comfortable coming to our office at this time. Telehealth is a secured video call between you and your physical therapist to discuss your symptoms, provide specific education, and discuss treatment options to help you improve your quality of life while in the comfort and safety of your home. The reality is that hands on care is vital for effective physical therapy intervention, however, exercises, movement analysis and EDUCATION is equally important and beneficial. We've found that many of our patients so far has enjoyed and benefited from their Telehealth visits and we encourage you to do the same. Due to COVID-19 crisis, Medicare and most Private Insurances will pay for Telehealth visits at this time.

We recognize that these are unprecedented times and the future is uncertain. Here at Ascend Physical Therapy we want to assure you that your health and safety are our top priorities. Should you have any further questions feel free to contact our office to speak with our staff.
